Friday-Thursday
Its been 3 days since I came back from CHIANGRAI! I LOVE CHIANG RAI<3 We left on friday. I was abit reluctant to leave the house on friday because I would have to live out of my comfort zone for the next few days. At first, I wasn't really prepared to go to Chiang Rai, Thailand. I was still abit confused on what was expected of us in Thailand. So, off we went, to Chiang Rai! Yay. We reached quite late on the first day (friday), about 10pm thailand time? (singapore's one hour later, so it was 11pm). We arrived from Big C and most of the kids were already waiting for us at the multi-purpose hall below the church. They helped us to carry our luggages up to our dorms <3 haha. so nice of them right<3 Next, I went to bathe. IT WAS SO DAMN COLD. I almost died. OMG. Cold water without heater. Lol! Yup. The next day, Saturday, we met our buddies for the first time. My buddies were Kannika and Yuwadee! Kannika's 8 and Yuwadee's 16. They are both very very nice. Kannika's cute and Yuwadee's a nice girl. We got along well and soon they became close to me! heehee. The days past. We played games. And did physical activities such as beating rice and clearing lands with chunkos while the kids were in school. We also went to the market to shop. We went to the village to distribute daily necessities, visited the village kindergarten, and our buddies' school! Haha. On the last night, on Wednesday night, we had a concert. Mini concert. The children danced their tribal dances, except the boys. LOL. The boys and their Hawaiian shirts. LOL. They break danced to sorry sorry! HAHA. During the past few nights, I could hear music, I heard the song too. On wednesday night, I finially realised why I kept hearing music in the middle of the night. Its because the children were practicing their dances! HAHA. We performed hoedownthrowdown, hi5's count to 10 and LOVE in return which was so westernised and different from them la. LOL. After the performances, it was time to give our initially assigned buddies their christmas present. I gave Yuwadee and Titichai! After everything, we were requested to stand in a row. Guess what's next. Sister and some other woman, hugged the first girl, Ada, followed by the second, then I was third. And everybody else (the children) started standing up. Every single one of them hugged us. The young and the old. Plus, the background music, caritas and another song, which I've forgotten, made me want to cry! OMG. I was like so touched for the first time in my life. Lol. I really didnt plan to cry, but I saw Jerlene crying like a fountain and some others, plus the music, I started crying too. I asked Jerl to stop but I started. Haha. Im like an idiot. LOL. This whole trip was fun. When I was returning to Singapore, I learnt that we, shouldn't forget the forgotten. We were in Chiang Rai to spread the love. We spread the love, they gave us company and love in return too. I will definitely return to Chiang Rai again next year after my Os. Definitely. Kannika, Yuwadee, and the rest, I will visit you guys again! <3 For now, I will pass stuff to mel's sis to pass it to my buddies and some others<3
